Psychotherapy in Hamilton

I offer a collaborative space to explore the experiences, relationships, and questions that matter to you. My approach is trauma-informed, queer-affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, and attentive to the wider context of your life.

A place for your whole self

You might be making sense of trauma, exploring your identity, navigating a relationship, or coming to understand yourself differently. We can begin with what feels important to you, without needing to have every question worked out before we meet.

My work draws on Internal Family Systems, EMDR, somatic approaches, and narrative therapy. Together, we can consider approaches that fit your needs, preferences, and circumstances.

Experience grounded in care

I’m Pauline O’Brien, a Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor-Supervisor (CCC-S). I bring 25 years of counselling and psychotherapy experience, an Ed.D. in Counselling Psychology from OISE at the University of Toronto, and a commitment to inspiring social justice in therapy and clinical supervision.

As a queer, neurodivergent practitioner who came to understand my lesbian identity and neurodivergence later in life, I value spaces where people can explore who they are with curiosity and care. Your experience will be your own.

Online and in-person appointments

My practice offers online appointments and in-person sessions in West Hamilton, Ontario. A free 20-minute consultation provides an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for, ask questions, and consider whether working together feels like a fit.
