Clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists

Clinical supervision offers a place to think carefully about your work, develop clinical judgment, and bring the questions that can be difficult to hold alone. I offer supervision and consultation grounded in reflection, ethical responsibility, and attention to power and context.

Support for your developing practice

I work with counsellors and psychotherapists, including Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying). I meet CRPO’s requirements to provide clinical supervision. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor-Supervisor (CCC-S), a Registered Psychotherapist, and a full-time professor at Yorkville University.

My background includes 25 years in counselling and psychotherapy across primary health care, university, shelter-based emergency mental health, and rural and northern settings.

What we can explore together

Supervision can include case conceptualization, ethical decision-making, therapeutic relationships, boundaries, feedback, and the impact of trauma-exposed work. We can also examine how identity, social location, and the conditions of practice shape clinical choices.

I aim for a relationship where questions and uncertainty are welcome, alongside clear expectations and accountability for client care. Agreements, confidentiality, evaluation, and ways of addressing concerns are part of that foundation.

Consultation for clinical supervisors

I also consult with clinical supervisors about their supervisory work. This can include reflecting on power, navigating difficult conversations, developing a supervisory approach, and considering the sustainability of the role.

Supervisor education

Through The Empowered Supervisor, I bring together clinical, educational, and supervisory experience in professional learning for supervisors. Visit the course website for information about the curriculum and upcoming offerings.
